KEF is named after Kent Engineering and Foundry, where their entire history began. Driven by a love of music and a refusal to compromise, their founder Raymond Cooke harnessed technology to ensure that KEF was always at the forefront of sound development. You can't avoid it - in the last few years there are some models that have been on the covers of all trade magazines. The compact speaker LS50 Meta and the active speakers LS50 Wireless II and LS60 Wireless . What they all have in common is that they use KEF's patented Uni-Q technology, which expands the optimal listening area so that everyone sitting in different places in the room can experience the same natural, detailed sound.

Another advantage of the Uni-Q technology is that the sound waves hit your ears at the same time, because the sound is spread from a single source. Traditional speakers have different diaphragm locations, and this means that the sound will reach your ears at slightly different times, causing the sound to be smeared and less natural.

No distortion - just pure and natural sound

The LS50 Meta, LS50 Wireless II and LS60 themselves use the 12th generation Uni-Q unit, which has been improved on several points through KEF's Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT). A technology that won What-Hi-Fi's 'Innovation of the year' award in 2020. This is a material with a complex labyrinth-like structure that absorbs 99% of the unwanted sound from the back of the driver. It eliminates distortion and produces a cleaner and more natural sound. It is innovation that we have come to know and love KEF for.

Hi-Fi of the future?

With the LS50 Wireless II and LS60 Wireless, KEF gives their take on what future Hi-Fi will look like. Here you get wireless compatibility with Wi-Fi, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast and all kinds of streaming services. With connection options for TV, subwoofer, CD player and record player, you can transform your system into just what you want. It's flexible and it's easy.

The built-in amplifiers are dedicated to high, medium and low frequencies in each speaker, so you can forget about the sonic losses that will always be present with crossovers.

The new LS60 Wireless II takes it a step further and uses technology taken directly from KEF's flagship model - the KEF Blade. The Single Apparent Source technology is used here, which aims to achieve the acoustic ideal of a single point source, where low, middle and high frequencies radiate from a single point. This is what makes the LS60 Wireless so incredibly coherent and with a more precise and clear sound across the entire bandwidth.
