A wolf in sheep's clothing
For far too long, speaker manufacturers have developed large and bulky subwoofers to move all the air that the deep 20 Hz oscillations require. It stops with the KC62. KEF's innovative technologies have enabled the KC62 to deliver a sensational bass performance that defies the common understanding of what is possible for such a small subwoofer with 2 x 6.5” units. This means that you can finally have the great music, film and game experiences, without a subwoofer that takes up most of the room, is difficult to find space for or ruins the aesthetics of the room.
Technology that redefines the subwoofer
KEF has really outdone itself with the development of the KC62, because it offers two completely ground-breaking technologies. The first is the Uni-Core technology, which combines the ends of the units against each other in a single motor system. Not only does this reduce the size of the cabinet by a third, but it also allows the units to travel much further than usual, and therefore the KC62 can move as much air as the much larger subwoofers.
The second innovation is KEF's brand new P-Flex units, where they have been inspired by the Japanese paper art Origami, because they have folded the units' suspension so that they can better handle the internal air pressure created in the cabinet. The construction provides a unique combination of strength and lightness, so that the units can move much more easily and precisely than is possible with the traditional and heavier suspensions. Together, the Uni-Core and P-Flex innovations ensure that the KC62 can deliver a fast, precise and almost underground bass with full control.
The series of innovative technologies does not stop here, however, because KEF has also equipped the KC62 with a tailor-made DSP and Smart Distortion Control Technology, which together with the specially designed 1000W class-D amplifier delivers a transparent and powerful bass extension without distortions.
Perfect sound everywhere
With the KC62, you are guaranteed a perfect sound, no matter where you place it. This is because the KC62 is equipped with Room Placement EQ, which, through the five preset sound profiles, means that you can place it free-standing in the room, against the wall, in the corner, inside a cabinet or in a decidedly apartment mode. With the KC62, you decide the location instead of your room.
