A Class D amplifier with analog sound

Primare has designed an entirely new UFPD-2 amplifier module that provides all the necessary power and performance required to create such an impressive power amplifier. The proprietary UFPD 2 technology (Ultra-Fast Power Device) eliminates almost all distortion and noise, while the advanced ventilation and cooling system keeps the amplifier cool and at the optimal operating temperature.

The UFPD technology itself differs from traditional Class A, A/B, or D amplifiers in that it uses a Class D amplifier topology and adds a high-frequency modulator to reduce high levels of distortion. This means that UFPD-2 has a very high efficiency of up to 90%, which means less power is used and the amplifier produces less heat. Another advantage of UFPD-2 is that it is also capable of delivering incredibly high current, even at low impedances, which means it can drive even the most demanding speakers with ease.

UFPD technology also offers very high stability and reliability, as it is less sensitive to temperature changes and voltage fluctuations than traditional amplifiers. This means that UFPD amplifiers can deliver more precise and consistent performance regardless of external conditions. An all-new power supply

For the amplifier module to produce the great amount of musical power it is capable of, Primare also had to design an entirely new power supply. The result was a completely new power supply with specially developed transformers that can deliver high instantaneous and sustained power with very low distortion and absolutely linear amplification across the entire frequency range. This results in a natural, fast, clean, and smooth sound across an ultra-wide frequency range and exceptional headroom.

It is no secret that at Lydspecialisten we are deeply impressed by what Primare has managed to squeeze out of this, to put it mildly, fabulous amplifier. When you add Primare’s sublime build quality and their know-how in circuit technology, the result is one thing: world-class sound. Nothing less. The price may suggest otherwise, but that has actually always been the case with Primare. Here, you truly get excellent value for money.

The A35.2 is without a doubt Primare’s best power amplifier to date, and it is significantly better than their previous reference, the A60, which is still excellent. The A35.2 is simply on another level sonically. It delivers such elegant, detailed, and nuanced sound that it can compete with the real heavyweights and far more expensive amplifiers on the market. Yet it does so at a price that is more than reasonable when you consider the performance. This is full-blooded high-end at a price point where the majority of enthusiasts and music lovers can join in. We would be very surprised if the A35.2 does not win an EISA award—just like its smaller siblings in Primare’s newest product series. The A35.2 is, to put it mildly, a shockingly good power amplifier.
