MOON 861 is based on a dual-mono architecture, where each channel is driven by a separate circuit to achieve maximum channel separation. This results in a more precise and natural reproduction of the stereo image.

The MDCA technology reduces distortion to an absolute minimum—measured at just 0.001% at full output power—while the design without global feedback provides a more open and musical sound. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 119 dB and a damping factor of 900, even complex musical passages gain a rare combination of control, clarity, and refinement.
