POWER AND MUSICALITY

Despite its relatively compact form, the 400M delivers a full 400 watts into 8 ohms and 650 watts into 4 ohms, giving it ample headroom to handle even demanding speakers. A high damping factor ensures full control in the low end, where the bass remains tight and dynamic, while the resolution in the treble is preserved in a natural and detailed way.

The amplifier operates in pure Class A up to 10 watts, which means that during normal listening it delivers the same warm, natural sound as the most musical high-end amplifiers. When power is required, it seamlessly switches to Class AB, making full use of its potential.

CONSTRUCTION AND TECHNOLOGY

The MOON 400M is built with a fully balanced differential circuit, ensuring maximum signal purity and minimal noise. The proprietary MOON bipolar transistors are precision-matched to provide more accurate bass reproduction and a more natural soundstage.

The power supply is based on a specially designed toroidal transformer that ensures stable energy delivery under all conditions. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 106 dB and a frequency response from 10 Hz to 125 kHz, the 400M reproduces music with openness, composure, and realism. Distortion is kept to a minimum – just 0.02% at low levels and 0.05% at full output power.

DESIGN AND PRACTICALITY

The cabinet is compact, with a width of 43 cm, a height of 8.9 cm, and a depth of 35.6 cm. Its weight of 15 kg reflects its solid construction. Despite its size, the 400M delivers performance normally found only in much larger amplifiers.

Like all MOON products, the 400M is built to integrate seamlessly into modern installations. It is equipped with both a 12V trigger and an RS-232 port, making integration into advanced audio systems and custom-install solutions simple.
