A compact headphone with flagship DNA
Although more compact than the Empyrean II and Elite, the POET builds on exactly the same heritage and technology. The new MZ6 driver system is a synthesis of Rinaro's MZ4 and MZ3SE drivers, providing a remarkable combination of low mass, high magnetic efficiency and a sound signature that is closer to the emotional expression of the Empyrean and Elite than traditional compact designs.
The diaphragm is made of Parus®, a sequentially biaxially oriented polymer material that provides low acoustic mass and high mechanical stability. Together with the Hybrid Array magnet structure, the driver is provided with a magnetic field of around 0.3 Tesla, which provides extremely precise actuation of the entire diaphragm surface. This results in fast transients, impressive resolution and a spatial reproduction that feels far larger than the physical dimensions of the headphones.
Sound signature: air, voice focus and texture
POET is tuned to deliver an experience where voices, acoustic instruments and ambient details stand out particularly clearly. The bass range is tight and controlled, yet still full, while the midrange is presented with a natural warmth and nice separation that makes complex recordings easy to follow. The treble range has a slightly airy accent that adds brilliance without becoming tiring.
The overall expression is emotional and immersive – a sound that attempts to convey the essence of the music rather than just its technical information.
Exclusive material
The chassis combines magnesium for strength and lightness, steel in the grill for stability and precision, synthetic suede in the headset for soft comfort, and titanium alloy in the headband for flexibility and durability. The pattern on the grill is not only a visual feature, but is also chosen to optimize airflow and minimize turbulence in front of the driver.
The result is an aesthetic expression that feels like a modern interpretation of Meze's design heritage: organic, sculptural and accomplished in every detail.
Ear pads for mood changes in sound
The magnetic ear cushion system, taken from the second generation LIRIC, makes replacement both quick and precise. The Duo cushions combine the controlled bass and resonant strength of leather with the spacious and airy qualities of Alcantara, creating a signature with fullness and atmosphere. The angled Alcantara cushions provide a more open and analytical perspective, expanding the space in front of the listener and making the placement of instruments extra clear.
Both cushion types are designed to provide a high-level comfort experience, allowing the listener to immerse themselves in long sessions without fatigue.
Technology: advanced planar magnetic design
As a further improvement, POET implements AMTS – Acoustic Metamaterial Tuning System – a precision component that covers specific openings in the driver structure and controls high-frequency resonances. AMTS reduces sharp peaks and provides a more comfortable, relaxed treble.
The driver design, with both switchback and spiral coils, allows bass and mid/high frequencies to be optimized separately, placing the high-frequency energy density directly over the ear canal, providing a clear improvement in imaging, channel balance, and the perception of spatial detail.
Comfort and balance in everyday use
Although POET is a high-performance headphone, it is also designed to be light and uncomplicated in practice. The weight is low, and the construction adapts to the shape of the head without creating pressure points. The combination of titanium, magnesium and synthetic leather materials provides a stable but flexible fit, where the headphone almost physically disappears, allowing the music to dominate the experience.
Built for long-term use
POET is fully serviceable, meaning that all vital parts can be replaced: driver, cable, headband, ear cushions and mechanical components.
