Mark Levinson № 632 Stereo Amplifier
The Mark Levinson № 632 amplifier operates with a fully balanced, discrete dual-mono design that drives speakers with calm and control. The amplifier reproduces music with a high level of detail and natural dynamics.
highlights
- Tectonic industrial design with signature red accent lighting
- Pure Path analog and digital circuit design
- Fully discrete signal path
- Both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) analog inputs
- Ultra-low-noise linear power supply with toroidal transformer
- Class A/AB operation
- Two sets of Hurricane speaker terminals
- Designed and developed in the USA
Pure signal path
With Mark Levinson's Pure Path design, the signal path proceeds without unnecessary interference, creating an open soundstage with precise placement of instruments. The result is a coherent and nuanced reproduction.
Stable power supply
A specially designed toroidal transformer is centrally placed in the construction and delivers stable power to the entire amplifier. The circuit operates with low feedback and high bias current, which contributes to low distortion and wide bandwidth.
Thoughtful construction
The cabinet is built modularly, so sensitive circuits are kept separate from the power supply. Key components are mounted on vibration-damping suspensions, and the mechanically decoupled feet ensure stable placement.
Design and materials
The design follows Mark Levinson's Tectonic style, with a cabinet in aluminum and steel, anodized in black and with a silver base. The front features a central glass panel with red illumination, while the top panel combines a glass element with ventilation and integrated cooling fins.
