Marantz AV 20 gives you access to the market’s most advanced 3D audio formats – Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, and DTS:X – each bringing a new dimension of realism to your home cinema.

Dolby Atmos is now the standard in professional cinemas and many modern film and game productions. By placing sounds as individual objects in a three-dimensional space, Atmos creates an enveloping sound experience where sounds can move freely around you – including overhead. AV 20 fully supports this technology, and together with the matching AMP 20 power amplifier, you can build setups such as 9.4.4 or 7.4.6 for maximum immersion. If it is not possible to install speakers in the ceiling, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization can simulate height channels, so you still get that extra dimension – even in a floor-based system.

Auro-3D offers a different approach to 3D sound, focusing on a channel-based layer above your front and side speakers. This structure creates a natural dome of sound around the listening position and adds extra depth and spaciousness. With a full Auro-3D setup, you also get a VOG channel (Voice of God) in the middle of the ceiling, providing a unique center point in the height layer – especially impressive for films with grand soundscapes or music recordings with acoustic detail.

DTS:X is also included in AV 20 and offers object-based audio with great flexibility.
