LUXSIN X8 – DAC and headphone amplifier that adapts to your headphones
When switching between different headphones, you quickly notice how differently they respond to both amplification and frequency balance. This is exactly where the LUXSIN X8 becomes interesting. It combines a DAC, balanced headphone amplifier, preamp, and advanced DSP in one compact desktop solution that can automatically detect headphone impedance and adapt the playback. With eight Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chips, up to 4,840 mW per channel, and profiles for more than 2,500 headphone models, the X8 is designed for those who want to get more out of their headphones while also being able to shape the sound to their own preferences.

LUXSIN X8 adapts to the headphones you listen with
One of the features that we especially find interesting about the LUXSIN X8 is the way it works with different headphones. It automatically detects the headphones’ impedance and adjusts the amplification for both sensitive and more demanding models. At the same time, the system includes profiles for more than 2,500 headphone models, while the hardware-based HP-EQ can correct the frequency response.
You can also create and save your own EQ curves, while Crossfeed and the other DSP functions provide additional options for shaping the playback. Everything happens directly in the X8, so you do not need external software on your computer.
Eight DAC chips and plenty of power for headphones
The digital section in the LUXSIN X8 is built around eight Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chips, with four chips dedicated to each channel. The signal is then passed on to a fully balanced headphone section that delivers up to 4,840 mW per channel at 16 ohms, 4,300 mW at 32 ohms in High Gain, and 950 mW at 300 ohms.
This provides a wide operating range for both sensitive and more demanding headphones. You get three gain levels as well as 4-pin XLR, 4.4 mm balanced, and 6.3 mm jack outputs. The X8 can also function as a DAC and preamp in a larger hi-fi system via balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA.
Advanced DSP wrapped in simple operation
Behind the large 4" touchscreen works a HiFi-5 DSP and ARM STAR dual-core architecture with an operating frequency above 500 MHz. EQ, Crossfeed, and automatic headphone adaptation are handled directly in the unit, allowing you to customize the playback without depending on external software.
The X8 is assembled in a CNC-milled aluminum chassis and uses an adjustable linear power supply with a low noise level. Operation is handled on the touchscreen or via Wi-Fi, while OTA updates keep the system up to date. USB, optical, coaxial, and Bluetooth also make it possible to connect various digital audio sources.
