KECES Valentina – DC power cable for your linear power supply

KECES Valentina is a dedicated DC power cable for those who have already invested in a good external power supply and do not want to leave the final connection to an ordinary DC cable. Valentina is developed specifically for the connection between an external DC power supply and compatible hi-fi equipment such as a streamer, DAC, or network component. KECES uses high-purity OFHC copper, a dual-core construction with a total of 18 conductors, as well as separate shielding and mechanical damping. This makes Valentina a natural complement to, for example, a KECES linear power supply when you want to think of the entire power path up to the connected component as one complete solution.

More than just the connection between A and B

A DC power cable has a relatively simple task: it must carry power from the power supply to the component that needs it. But once you have chosen a separate linear power supply for your hi-fi equipment, it also makes sense to look at the connection itself between the two components. KECES has therefore built Valentina with high-purity OFHC copper conductors and a dual-core construction, where each of the two cores consists of nine separate conductors. According to KECES, the construction is developed with a view to stable power transmission and minimal loss on the way from the power supply to the connected electronics.

Shielding and damping are built into the construction

KECES has also worked on what happens around the conductors themselves. Valentina uses a separate shielding design which, according to the manufacturer, is developed to reduce the impact of external interference. In addition, damping material is placed between the two conductor cores to limit the effect of mechanical vibrations on power transmission. KECES itself describes the result as a more natural and detailed presentation with a quieter background. That is the manufacturer's own description of the sonic effect, while the specific construction differences are found in the conductor material, the shielding, and the mechanical structure.

Choose the right DC plug for your equipment

KECES Valentina comes in a length of 1.5 meters and, according to KECES, is available in two plug versions: 2.5 mm to 2.1 mm and 2.5 mm to 2.5 mm. It is therefore important to choose the version that fits both the power supply and the product to be powered. However, plug size is not the only thing that needs to match. Always check voltage, polarity, and current requirements on the connected equipment.
