Technological Superiority and Performance
Hugo TT2 delivers five times more processing power than its predecessor, Hugo TT, and twice as much as the award-winning Hugo 2. With a powerful Xilinx Artix 7 FPGA at its core, custom-coded by Rob Watts, Hugo TT2 operates with a groundbreaking 16FS WTA 1 filter with a full 98,304 taps. In this context, taps are crucial to the DAC's ability to process digital signals with precision – the more taps, the more accurate the sound reproduction becomes. Hugo TT2's tap count is more than twice as high as that of Hugo 2, resulting in incredibly detailed and clear sound that surpasses traditional DACs.
Hugo TT2 handles PCM playback up to 768kHz and DSD 512, giving you exceptional sound quality surpassed only by Chord Electronics' flagship - DAVE. The 127dB dynamic range and ultra-low noise level of just 4 uV (high gain) make Hugo TT2 a DAC that delivers world-class precision and clarity.
Powerful Amplification and Advanced Power Management
Hugo TT2 is designed to deliver massive power with minimal distortion. The new high-power discrete output stage with second-order noise shaping reduces distortion to almost inaudible levels – 0.00008% at 2.5 V 300Ω and 0.00016% at 6 W 8Ω.
Replacing the predecessor's Li-Po battery with six supercapacitors gives Hugo TT2 the ability to deliver high, linear dynamic current when the music demands it. This results in a peak output of 5A and 9.3V RMS, ensuring that it has ample headroom even when driving the most demanding headphones at high volume levels.
Flexible Listening Experiences and Future-Proofing
Hugo TT2 is equipped with Chord Electronics’ well-known four-stage filter settings, allowing the user to tailor the sound to their personal preferences. The three-stage digital crossfeed function enhances the headphone listening experience and creates a sense of depth and space normally experienced only with speakers.
For those who want to take their audio experience to the next level, Hugo TT2 can easily be upgraded with Chord Electronics' M Scaler, which brings 1 million taps of digital upscaling to the table – a must for the discerning listener.
