Audiovector QR 7 - The flagship with dynamics and musical excess

The QR 7 SE is Audiovector's new flagship of the QR series, and it was designed with a very clear purpose - to make playing music fun again! Its large and vivid sound transports you to the concert hall or nightclub of your dreams. This is an incredibly versatile speaker that gives you the opportunity to hear everything from rock to classical music, and its downward-facing Q-reflex port makes it possible to place it closer to the wall than conventional speakers. So even though the QR 7 SE is a large speaker, they are still living room-friendly and capable of delivering award-winning sound even in smaller rooms. The QR 7 has already been named 'Speaker of the Year' in the mid-range by Hi-Fi+ and Editors' Choice by Hi-Fi Pig Magazine.

The SE series offers significant improvements

Compared to its predecessor, the new SE model offers an even more open, dynamic and detailed sound reproduction. It's a very clear and audible improvement that can easily be heard in an A/B demonstration.

The improvements in the SE series include, among other things, a new crossover that has better characteristics in the bass and midrange response frequency. All the internal wires are now cryogenically treated, where they have been frozen to -236 degrees. The new high-precision vibration optimized capacitors have even been double cryogenically treated to reduce resistance and improve signal transfer. The result is a high-precision component that improves the treble range.

Audiovector has also improved the damping inside the cabinets using NanoPore™, which until now has only been used in the most exclusive and much more expensive Audiovector models. The SE series has optimized the damping factor, which improves the dynamic and aperiodic performance. They also got new ones precision milled spikes with a knurled counter screw for easy adjustment.

Powerful and extremely refined

While the QR 7 has a huge, room-filling sound, it is also an extremely refined loudspeaker that has been developed, engineered and handcrafted at Audiovector's headquarters here in Denmark. It has a dynamic and musical ability and then it has the latest in speaker technologies to deliver an outstanding performance.

The QR 7's impressive cabinet houses two massive 8" Pure Piston units and a newly developed crossover that combine to create a hyper-dynamic, neutral-sounding speaker with a large and open soundstage. It's a full 3-way system with twin Pure Piston sandwich woofers diaphragms, a 6" midrange and Audiovector's fast and agile Air Motion Transformer tweeter. Due to its light impedance load and high efficiency of 90.5dB, it is extremely easy to drive. This makes the QR 7 SE a perfect match with both solid state and tube amplifiers.

The perfect speaker for everything

One of Audiovector's hallmarks is that they design their units themselves, then get the best suppliers to build them. In this way, they ensure that they co-design their devices in combination with their crossovers. The combination of ​a ​low hysteresis voice coil technology, large powerful magnets, rigid turbulence damping curves and sandwich membranes made of two layers of aluminium, gives them an opportunity to create a richer, clearer and more vibrant sound.

Designed for strength and elegant aesthetics

The QR 7 SE's cabinet has been generously braced and made from high-density hardwood (HDF), to create the perfect combination of superior strength, low resonance and elegant aesthetics. The tweeter's front plates are made from a single piece of aerospace-grade aluminum. They are precision machined, glass blown, brushed and then anodized in a beautiful tungsten titanium gray color. The rose gold-plated dispersion mesh acts as an S-Stop filter and improves driver integration.
