Aavik I-188 - Integrated amplifier with advanced noise control and flexible setup
Aavik I-188 opens the door to the I-x88 series. It is built on the same technology and sound philosophy as the flagship models, but in a more compact format. Here, you get an integrated amplifier that combines high precision with low noise and playback that feels calm and natural.
I-188 is developed for systems where control, timing, and musicality matter more than raw specifications alone.
Highlights
- Pascal Class D with UMAC modulation
- Resonant mode power supply
- Analog active crossover
- Optical volume control with analog signal path
- Active Tesla coil technology
- Active square Tesla coil technology
- 3rd generation analog dither technology
- Anti aerial resonance coils against RF noise
Compact format with technology from the flagship models
I-188 is built on the same basic principles as Aavik’s larger models. It uses the latest Pascal amplification and improved UMAC modulation, which reduce noise and provide better control of the speakers.
This delivers playback with fast response, clear details, and a more natural balance across the entire frequency range.
Power supply focused on calmness and stability
The power supply uses resonant mode technology and delivers power with low noise and high stability. When the music requires extra energy, the system automatically adapts and keeps the voltage stable.
This provides a calmer foundation beneath the music and helps maintain control, even as the dynamics increase.
Flexible integration into your system
I-188 has a fully analog crossover system with adjustable high-pass and low-pass filters. You can integrate subwoofers and relieve the main speakers in the bass range.
This makes it easier to adapt the system to both speakers and rooms and gives you greater freedom in the setup.
Volume control without affecting the signal
The titanium-coated control wheel manages the volume level via an optical encoder. The signal itself remains analog throughout the entire adjustment.
This means the volume changes precisely without compromising detail, balance, or dynamics.
Noise reduction as part of the design
I-188 uses Tesla coils, square Tesla coils, and analog dither technology to reduce electrical noise in the circuit. At the same time, anti aerial resonance coils limit RF noise from the surroundings.
The result is a darker background, better focus, and a more open soundstage.
Design focused on function and aesthetics
The design was developed by Flemming Erik Rasmussen and Michael Børresen. The cabinet combines clean lines with a technical construction in which materials and design support the sound quality.
This gives you an amplifier that functions both as part of the system and as a natural part of the room.
