Marantz CD 70 – rediscover the music in your CD collection
Marantz CD 70 is a dedicated CD player for those who still enjoy taking an album off the shelf and listening from the first track to the last. Here, Marantz combines its experience with CD players with a high-performance DAC, HDAM circuitry, and a solid power supply.
At the same time, CD 70 is more than a classic CD player. Via the USB-A port on the front, you can play high-resolution music files directly from a USB device. This makes the player well suited to the music lover who wants to enjoy a physical CD collection while also having access to local digital music files in the same hi-fi system.

Marantz CD 70 brings new life to your CD collection
Marantz CD 70 is built for the music lover who still has a CD collection that deserves to be played. The player's DAC works together with Marantz DAC Master Clock Design, which ensures precise timing in digital signal processing.
After that, Marantz's own HDAM and HDAM-SA2 circuitry takes over. The design is conceived as a coherent signal path from reading the CD to the analog signal sent on to the amplifier.
This makes CD 70 an obvious choice if the CD format still plays a central role in your hi-fi system and you want a dedicated player developed specifically for music listening.
More than a classic CD player
If you have music stored as digital files, the USB-A input on the front can be used for direct playback from USB storage. Marantz CD 70 supports FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, and DSD, among others, and can therefore also be used for a local collection of high-resolution music files.
If you want to use an external DAC, the digital signal can be passed on via the optical or coaxial output. The analog connection to the amplifier is made via gold-plated RCA terminals.
CD 70 also has two selectable digital filters. This allows you to choose the sound reproduction that best suits your preferences and your system.
Solid construction with a focus on the signal path
Marantz has also worked thoroughly on the parts of CD 70 that are not immediately visible from the listening position. The player uses a toroidal transformer, separate rectifier circuits for the digital and analog sections, and a symmetrical circuit layout.
The chassis is reinforced with an extra metal plate that contributes to mechanical stability around the electronics. The design thus supports the overall focus on a controlled signal path through the player.
Listen directly with headphones
Marantz CD 70 also has a dedicated headphone amplifier with an HDAM-SA2 buffer and separate volume control. You can therefore connect a pair of headphones directly to the player when you want to listen without using the speakers.
Together with the Marantz MODEL 70, CD 70 can form part of a visually cohesive Marantz system. At the same time, the player can also be used with other suitable stereo amplifiers via the analog RCA output.
