R35 - Floorstanding Loudspeaker
R35 is the compact floorstanding model in ARCAM’s Radia series, designed as a true 4-way configuration with three dedicated 5.25” MCC woofers, a separate 5.25” DCC midrange driver, and a 1” DCC aluminum dome tweeter in an Acoustic Lens waveguide. With a specified frequency response down to 36 Hz and up to 40 kHz, as well as precision crossover points at 350 Hz and 2.1 kHz, the R35 delivers controlled, phase-coherent, and dynamic full-scale performance in a floorstanding format. It is optimized for amplifiers in the 30–225W class and integrates seamlessly with the ARCAM SA35, SA45, and Radia AV series.

THREE WOOFERS WITH CONTROLLED DISPLACEMENT
R35 uses three separate 5.25” MCC woofers, increasing total cone area and reducing distortion at higher sound pressure levels. Distributing the low-frequency workload across three drivers provides better dynamic headroom and a more linear load.
The MCC construction combines ceramic coating and a composite structure to minimize breakup and ensure precise transient response.
DEDICATED DCC MIDRANGE
The separate 5.25” DCC midrange driver is isolated from the bass section and operates in its optimal frequency range between 350 Hz and 2.1 kHz. This reduces intermodulation distortion and improves vocal precision and microdynamics.
The result is a more open and focused presentation in the critical midrange area.
DCC TWEETER WITH ACOUSTIC LENS
The 25 mm aluminum dome tweeter is mounted in an Acoustic Lens waveguide, which controls the dispersion pattern and ensures consistent off-axis response. This design improves integration with the midrange driver and stabilizes the stereo image.
The waveguide reduces diffraction and optimizes energy distribution in the room.
CABINET AND MECHANICAL STABILITY
The cabinet construction is internally braced to reduce panel resonances under load. The increased cabinet volume compared with the bookshelf models provides extended low-frequency response and higher acoustic output.
Dual rear bass-reflex ports are precisely tuned to support depth without compromising control.
SYSTEM INTEGRATION
With 6-ohm impedance and 87 dB sensitivity, the R35 requires a current-capable amplifier for optimal control, especially at higher sound pressure levels. It is fine-tuned for optimal performance together with ARCAM Radia electronics through anechoic calibration.
It is well suited to medium-sized and larger rooms where a compact yet full-scale floorstanding speaker is desired without moving up to the largest model in the series.
POSITIONING
R35 is developed for installations and systems where dynamic capability, linear response, and precise midrange reproduction are prioritized. It delivers greater scale and deeper foundation than the bookshelf models while maintaining control and phase integrity.
