R15 - Bookshelf Loudspeaker

R15 is the compact two-way loudspeaker in ARCAM’s Radia series, developed as a precision tool for serious stereo and AV installations. With a 5.25” Micro Ceramic Composite (MCC) woofer, a 1” aluminium dome tweeter integrated into an Acoustic Lens waveguide, and a precision-tuned crossover at 1.8 kHz, the R15 delivers linear, controlled, and phase-coherent reproduction in a compact cabinet. It is designed to perform optimally with the ARCAM SA35 and other Radia components, but also pairs effortlessly with other high-performance amplifiers in the 15–150W class.

MCC WOOFER WITH HIGH RIGIDITY

The Micro Ceramic Composite cone combines a ceramic coating with low mass and high structural rigidity. This reduces cone breakup and ensures better control in the upper bass and lower midrange. The result is tighter transient response and greater mechanical stability at dynamic peaks.

The acoustic tuning via dual rear-facing ports extends the low-frequency response without compromising control or timing.

ALUMINIUM DOME WITH ACOUSTIC LENS

The 25 mm DCC aluminium dome tweeter is mounted in an integrated waveguide that controls the dispersion pattern and improves integration between the drivers. The waveguide reduces diffraction and ensures consistent off-axis response, providing a stable stereo image even outside the sweet spot.

The relatively low crossover frequency of 1.8 kHz contributes to better phase integration and more coherent reproduction.

CABINET AND MECHANICAL STABILITY

The cabinet construction is internally braced to minimize panel resonances. The front baffle is mechanically decoupled via integrated trim rings, and the magnetic front grille ensures a clean look without visible fastenings.

The Black Walnut veneer finish places the R15 in the premium segment, both visually and in terms of build quality.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION

The R15 is fine-tuned for optimal performance together with the ARCAM SA35 and other Radia electronics through anechoic calibration. Its nominal impedance of 6 ohms and moderate sensitivity of 85 dB make it well suited to current-capable amplifiers with good control in the midrange.

It works optimally as a high-end nearfield speaker, in compact stereo systems, or as a front channel in smaller AV setups.

POSITIONING

The R15 is developed for listeners who prioritize linear response, controlled dispersion, and precise transient reproduction in a compact format. It is not tuned for spectacular emphasis, but for correct and stable reproduction.
