Pure Class A with maximum control

At the heart of the Aavik I-880 is a newly developed Class A amplifier that operates in pure Class A all the way up to the full output power of 2 x 200 watts into 8 ohms.

The advanced bias control keeps the amplifier constantly in Class A while reducing power consumption compared with traditional Class A designs. This provides effortless reproduction with high dynamics, great control, and remarkable naturalness.

A power supply developed from the ground up

Instead of a traditional linear power supply, the I-880 uses four resonant 500-watt power supplies with active Power Factor Correction.

The resonant design works with sinusoidal signals rather than traditional switching frequencies and delivers extremely low noise combined with very large power reserves. The interaction between the four power supplies and the extensive energy storage makes it possible to deliver peak currents of more than 80 amperes when the music places the greatest demands.

The shortest possible signal path

To minimize noise and inductance, the power supply's capacitor banks are placed directly next to the output transistors. This avoids long current paths through PCB traces and cables.

The short signal path contributes to a low noise floor, fast response, and the high resolution that characterizes Aavik I-880.

Ansuz technology integrated into the design

Aavik I-880 uses several of Ansuz' most advanced noise-reducing technologies, including Active Tesla Coils and the third generation of Analog Dither Technology.

The technologies actively reduce electrical noise and lower the noise floor, so the music is reproduced with greater calm, more nuances, and an even more open soundstage.

Solid copper cabinet

The cabinet is made of solid copper – not only for aesthetic reasons, but also because of copper's electrical and mechanical properties.

The material reduces inductance and hysteresis, improves resonance control, and also contributes to effective heat dissipation. This creates optimal working conditions for the electronics and ensures a stable construction.

Analog active crossover and room correction

Aavik I-880 is equipped with an advanced analog active crossover, which can be used for precise integration of a subwoofer or as a crossover in a 2.1 system.

Because all signal processing takes place in analog form, no digital delay is introduced. This provides precise timing between speakers and subwoofer, while the integrated analog room correction makes it possible to reduce unwanted resonances in the listening room.
