Top class precision

The Evo CD uses Cambridge Audio's new S5 Servo, an upgrade from the acclaimed S3 found in the CXC. With its improved speed accuracy and ability to retrieve information, it is quite a significant upgrade over its predecessor. Evo CD does not use a multi-purpose drive, but a specially designed piece of engineering for the sole purpose of playing audio CDs with flawless precision.

A CD player for great sound experiences

The anodized aluminum that surrounds the Evo CD's precision components not only matches the Evo's purposeful design, it also contributes to its performance. The acoustically damped metal chassis and tray ensure that nothing interferes with the signal when it is relayed to the Evo amplifiers' DAC via the single custom-made "Evo Link" output cable.

Form and function

The Evo CD has only one purpose: to spin CDs and pass precise music information on to the Evo. This allows a minimalist design - with only one button on the front panel to open/close the metal-clad CD tray. Everything else is operated via Evo's remote control or the StreamMagic app on your smart device. Album art and track information are displayed beautifully on the Evo's 6.8" color screen.
