DIGITAL PRECISION AND ANALOG HEAT
At the heart of the 791 is the MDE-2 DAC, delivering a resolution and purity that few can match. With a frequency response of 2 Hz to 200 kHz and a dynamic range of 125 dB, even the finest nuances in music are reproduced with natural openness. Distortion is reduced to just 0.0004%, ensuring sound that is precise, effortless and true to the original.
On the analog side, the preamplifier delivers a signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB. Thanks to the M-VOL3 volume control, the dynamics of the music are preserved, even at low levels, while the balanced architecture ensures maximum channel separation and a clean, transparent signal.
PHONO STAGE WITH FLEXIBILITY
The MOON 791 is equipped with a built-in high-end phono stage that can be adapted to a wide range of pickups. With adjustable gain settings of 40, 54, 60 and 66 dB, as well as multiple options for both capacitance and resistance, it is possible to find the perfect match for both MM and MC pickups. The result is a natural, organic sound reproduction, where the warmth and detail of the vinyl are kept intact.
STREAMING AND CONNECTION
The MiND2 module provides access to major streaming services and supports high-resolution files, so music can be enjoyed in studio-master quality directly from the network. With six digital inputs, including USB, optical, coaxial and HDMI ARC, the 791 can act as a central hub in both hi-fi and home cinema setups.
In addition, there are three analog inputs, giving you the flexibility to connect both digital and classic analog sources. The 50 ohm output impedance makes it easy to integrate the 791 with a wide range of power amplifiers – including the powerful MOON 761.
DESIGN AND USER-FRIENDLY
The MOON 791 is built to impress both visually and technically. The 48 cm wide cabinet and 19 kg weight emphasize the solid construction, while the front is adorned with a 4.3” color screen that provides a clear overview of settings and playback.
With the included BRM-1 remote control, control is both intuitive and elegant. Power consumption is optimized, so the unit uses only 25 watts when idle and just 5 watts in low-power standby – an example of how the 791 combines high-end performance with modern efficiency.
The MOON 791 Network Player/Preamplifier is the ultimate hub for both digital and analog music systems. Combining streaming, DAC, phono stage and preamp in one chassis, it offers a unique blend of flexibility, sophistication and sound quality that makes it a complete solution for the highest level of audiophile.
