Refined ESS SABRE DAC for the ultimate audio performance

The Michi X5 Series 2 is equipped with an ESS SABRE ES9028PRO 8-channel DAC, which delivers world-class digital-to-analog conversion. This DAC has an advanced architecture, with four channels dedicated to each of the two audio signals (left and right), reducing noise and improving signal precision. The DAC supports high-resolution audio up to PCM 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256, as well as full MQA hardware decoding. This advanced DAC ensures amazing detail and clarity in music, bringing out even the finest nuances.

A next-generation amplifier with 99 improvements

The X5 Series 2 is the result of a comprehensive development process, implementing a whopping 99 improvements over the previous model. The transition from the AKM-DAC to the ESS SABRE chip required extensive changes to the surrounding circuit architecture, and over a year of close collaboration between Rotel and ESS engineers to optimize performance. These changes have resulted in significantly improved precision, lower noise, and a wider dynamic range than ever before.

Extreme capacitors for instant dynamics

The X5 Series 2 is designed to deliver fast, precise power delivery thanks to four 22,000μF high-efficiency capacitors, which ensure instant access to energy. The behavior of this power reserve can be compared to an electric car that accelerates instantly without delay. The combination of these capacitors and the internal toroidal transformers gives the amplifier an astonishing ability to control dynamic pieces of music with enormous precision. With an output power of 600 watts into 4 ohms, this amplifier can drive virtually any speaker with total control.

The integrated PC-USB input supports up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and Quad DSD (11.2MHz) as well as full MQA decoding, allowing you to play music in the absolute highest quality from your computer or digital devices.

Built-in phono MM/MC input for vinyl lovers

For true audiophiles, the X5 Series 2 features a built-in RIAA amplifier that supports both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) pickups. This means you can connect your turntable directly to the X5 and enjoy your vinyl records in the best possible sound quality - without the need for an external RIAA amplifier.
